Marv Pratt - Our Man in Tennessee

Marv has more than 35 years of professional experience in the automobile industry. For 31 years, he owned an auto body shop where he worked on virtually all makes and models of vehicles from domestics to imports--everything from basic transportation to exotics. During his career, he has bought, sold, restored, built, rebuilt, designed, and modified thousands of cars and trucks.

His full-scale restorations have appeared in national magazines and calendars and include vehicle restorations as diverse as a 1969 AMC Rambler "Scrambler," a 1950 Ford F-1 pickup, and two Boss 429 Mustangs. Others include many 1955 through 1957 Chevys, 1955 through 1957 T-Birds, a 1934 Ford, a Nash Metropolitan, a 1957 E Type Jaguar, T Buckets, late model customs, street rods, race cars, and a collection of mid-1960's Impala SS cars.

Marv has been a drag racer since his teens, holding several titles including a National Pro Comp Championship with his own Marv Pratt Racing operation as well as serving as Chief Mechanic with Fat Dawg Racing. He remains a consultant mechanic for Charlie Proite of PBR Funny Car fame and for Diamond Dave Miller and his World's Shortest Top Fuel Dragster, with the new Telstar Racing operation.

From 1989 to 2001, Marv ran the annual LaVista Days Auto Jam car show in LaVista, Nebraska. He's now living in Tennessee and working with Ben "Cooter" Jones of the Dukes of Hazzard television series with the preservation of the cars displayed at "Cooter's In The Smokies" (the Dukes of Hazzard Museum and Store) located in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
